From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard comes a new standalone, full-length romantic suspense novel.

My father is the head of the Bratva, but being born out of wedlock, I’ve never been a part of that world.
Until a hit is taken out on me. I’m kidnapped in the dead of night and waking up, it’s to come face to face with Demitri Vetrov.

Dangerous and heartless, Demitri is the most feared man in the world. I’ve heard whispers of what he’s capable of.

I’m thrown into a nightmare where I don’t know who I can trust, and fear for my life is my only constant companion.
I’m forced to be at Demitri’s mercy, I’m just not sure he has any. It also doesn’t help that he’s disarmingly attractive.

Tall, dark, and deadly.

Knowing this, he uses it against me like a weapon, breaking down my walls faster than I can put them up.

There’s a war coming, and I’m right in the middle of it.
The only question is, will Demitri be the one to save me or kill me?

STANDALONE: Romance Suspense full-length novel.
WARNING: This book contains subject matter that may be sensitive for some readers. There is dark and triggering content between these pages. 18+ only. Please read responsibly.

Series: Standalone but related to St. Monarch Academy

My Rating:★★★★

I have loved this series so much from the very first book and I’ve looked forward to Demitri’s book. The hellhound of the brava and most lethal man in the underworld.

When Demitri finds himself with a babysitting job, he is well and truly out of his element. He is known as a capable man. Lethal, a force to be reckon with; with skills that are parallel to none. But what he’s now faced with now, is nothing short of his worst nightmare; dealing with a woman. A creature he has no experience with.

Ariana, a mafia princess who has never claimed her throne at all. Raised by her single mother, with a father who parented long distance, she’s lived a simple life full of love and happiness. She loves her life. She is content and having everyday problems like having to make money to pay the bills. So imagine her surprise when the sins of the her father’s world comes colliding into hers and the Devil and his hellhound come for her.

At a young age of 23, Ariana is faced with being an orphan. If that wasn’t enough, the only living relative of hers betrays her in the most devasting ways. And as fate would have it, she finds solace in the most unlikely of places.

I loved Ariana. Her inner monologues were great, she had a wicked sense of humour and I found myself laughing at her conversations with herself. She is the kind of heroin I live for. Strong, brave, smart, charming and sassy. I loved that she was happy with the simplicity of her life and just lived a normal life.

I loved Demetri as well. He’s your typical alpha. Strong and capable of anything except handling his feelings. But I especially loved that once he decided to face them, he didn’t shy away from them. He fought for his woman when she needed him to and let her shine where she needed to.

I really enjoyed this book, but I have to say so far Carson’s story has been my favourite in this series. With this one, there was a bit of a slow slump while they were on the island that took away from the pace of the story. I am definitely looking forward to alexia’s story. I can’t wait to meet the woman who tames that beast.
