Ever hear the kid song, Jack and Beau sitting in a tree K I S S I N G?
Well, she met me when I was up in a tree, but kissing her has never been an option. She isn’t the kind to fall for a daredevil.
And I’m a Formula One race car driver. Adrenaline Junkie is my middle name. Taking risks and tossing my fate to the wind is what I do.
Being her friend is no longer enough.
Can I find a way to hold onto her, when we are so intrinsically different?

Series: Quintessentially Theirs #2

My Rating: ★★

Not really a fan of holiday romances and to be honest it wasn’t the best Serena book I’ve ever read. Since its book 2 I feel like I probably would have gotten more from the book if I had read book 1. But that’s on me.

I did feel a bit cheated by the blurb as well. The way its written and to be fair for the first 30-40% of the book, you get the impression that something huge is going to happen to break the couple up and our hero is going to have to work his little cotton socks off to get her back. Or maybe it was just me. The whole time I read reading I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. But

The book was focused on their relationship, which was a refreshing difference from having the couple actually be in the relationship in the last 10% of the book. However, it also made it a bit bleh because there was no drama. There was no angst, no fighting for the relationship.

I can literally summarise the book in 5 steps

  1. Misunderstanding between the 2
  2. Communicate and therefore clarify the misunderstanding
  3. Get together
  4. Live happily ever after,
  5. The end

I just needed more. Period
